I recently had my daughters hair done at a salon. I unfortunately forgot to ask how much they charge

She put in extensions, it took her 4.5 hours. She told me before we started that she has never done braids like that before and asked if my daughter could be her guinea pig. I thought I would get a great deal. Wrong! She charged me 310 dollars and the hair does not look that great. 3 days later and i am ready to take it out. People say I have to pay her because we did not discuss price. She said she charges $40.00 per hour and she took my daughters picture on her camera phone without my permission. What should I do?

I would talk to the salon manager for one. If the hair style isn't done to your satisfaction...most places will either redo it or give you a refund. As for her taking a picture of your child...that's way out of line especially since she didn't have permission from you. Be sure to bring this up also when you talk to the manager.

One thing I know is to always ask the price. No matter what the style may be. I dont like being a guinea pig for any hair dresser. I prefer to have someone that knows what they are doing. 310.00 is alot of money for braids... Im like WOW. But at the same time, people have the right to charge whatever they want to . She said she never did them, so thats a hard price . I would say next time to ask around before letting someone do her hair and make sure they know how to do that style. I would say you have to pay her for her services. As far as the pictures some hairstylists take pictures to put in books for other customers to see. I would say she should have asked before doing that . I would talk to her about it and pay her for her services. I wouldnt return to her for future services. Find a new stylist asap.

thats a tough one. If she was any kind of stylist a consultation is a MUST and has to include a price agreement. BUT since she was not very great with customer service, its not your responsibility to question but maybe you should have asked just to be sure. HOWEVER extensions range about 400-3000 in a salon..so you may have gotten a deal. although you get what u pay for i believe...AND since she was a "guinea pig" you should have gotten a bigger discount..She should have asked your permission to take a picture though. I would call or go back to the salon and ask for a manager. Tell them the situation. You SHOULD get your money back and/or a re-do. I would not visit the stylist again. sorry. good luck

it sucks but when you don't ask it is on you....

i did the same a month ago.....

well even i did ask they said 100 then they asked if i want two tones in my hair i said yes they did not say but in the end it was $250 i did not like it even and i had to pay anyway as it was on me..... but i would of made them change it if i was a bit less shy!!!!!
