I was natural for 2 years then my grandmother got sick well Im jumping the gun. Like I said I was natural for 2 years sometimes I loved it sometimes I wasn't sure about it. Well for the most part I was happy. Ever sience I went natural my grandmother had been pushing me for a perm. Of course I was aginst it and I told her no over and over again. Well my grandmother had a stroke in April (I was actually there to witness it, luckily my emt training came in handy) when she kind of recoverd and started asking me about the perm again so I did it. I knew it wouldn't make her better but I thought it would make her happy. Now that shes gone(june 19, R.I.P)I want to back to natural. That being said I was wondering should I wash my hair very frequently to make the perm come out quicker? The last time I did it I started with a TWA. I guess I will go that route again or maybe i will let it grow a little then get braids. What Im most excited about is in Feb. for my 30th bday Im getting sisterlocks

I have Sisterlocks and I started them with a texturizer (chemical) in my hair. Sisterlocks are a great alternative to having all of your hair cut off. TWAs are great for starting locks but if you are unsure about cutting your hair right now, just continue to take extra care of it (i.e. deep conditioning weekly, regular trimming) and wear styles that require little to no heat (like two strand twists). You'll want to do this because over time you will likely experience some shedding and breakage where the relaxed hair (chemical) meets with the new growth (virgin/unprocessed hair). Braids are also a great alternative -- I wore braids for months before I got Sisterlocks. Just remember to follow your consultants instructions during the early stages and you'll be just fine. Good Luck!!!

You can't wash out a relaxer, only grow it out. You could trim it every month until you're natural again. Also, if you're going to get sisterlocks you know they can be done on relaxed hair.

you cant wash out the perm. if anything, washing it frequently will just strip your hair of its natural oils and make it dry. you have a couple choices, you can chemically straighten your hair which will give it more damage.. or you can just flat iron your hair daily, orrr.. just let it grow out and the ends will be curly.
